Fasten your seatbelts as the UAE edition of Red Bull Car Park Drift returns to Souk Al Marfa this weekend

Another year brings another exciting edition of the Red Bull Car Park Drift to Souk Al Marfa, the waterfront souk and marketplace at Dubai Islands. The nation’s most talented drifters will unite once again for one of the most thrilling events in the region’s motorsports calendar on Sunday 6 March from 11 am to 6 pm.

The 2022 UAE qualifiers of the Red Bull Car Park Drift will be judged by the biggest names in the motorsport world including: Jordanian drift king Ahmad Daham; Emirati motocross champion Mohammed Al Balooshi; Lebanon’s Yousif Basil, and Yemeni Wadhah Abdullah Ali, not to mention the return of Lebanese drifting legend and Red Bull athlete, Abdo Feghali, as the event director. 

Muath Abdelkader AlRais, General Manager of Souk Al Marfa, said: “We are pleased to be hosting the Red Bull Car Park Drift qualifiers at Souk Al Marfa for the second year in a row. Motorsport has always been a key priority for us, having previously hosted various car shows and exhibitions that garnered city-wide engagement. We wish this year’s qualifiers all the luck and look forward to welcoming all the car enthusiasts for a great show.”

Abdo Feghali, Red Bull athlete and drifting legend, said: “We are excited to be returning to Souk Al Marfa for one of the most highly-anticipated events on the motorsports calendar. Every year, we explore new, skilled and passionate drivers and we can’t wait to see what they have in store this year.”

Visitors and petrolheads are advised to head to Souk Al Marfa early to get as close to the action as possible. As for the ones that are unable to attend, they can tune in via the live stream of Red Bull Car Park Drift on the Red Bull Motorsports’ Facebook page.  

The victorious drifter of the UAE finals will earn a spot in the Red Bull Car Park Drift World Championship, set to take place in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on 30 November 2022. They will get the opportunity to make history and join previous title holders, including recent winners such as 2021 champion, Ahmed Al Amri (Oman/Qatar), 2019’s Anas El Helou (Jordan), and 2018’s Oliver El Kik (Lebanon).
